Abstract: Magnetic chitosan microspheres (MCPs) are fabricated through an inverse phase emulsion method,and further characterized by means of Fourier transform infrared spectrum (FT-IR) and X-ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD).The effect of the initial mass concentration of direct pink dye solution,pH and adsorption time on the adsorption behavior of MCPs to the dye are investigated.It is found that the equilibrium adsorption capacity (qe) of MCPs to direct pink dye increases with the increase of initial concentration or pH value of the solution,which exhibits the highest value of 113.2 mg·g-1.It is observed from adsorption kinetics investigation that the adsorption process of MCPs to direct pink dye accords with pseudo-second order kinetics model.Adsorption isotherm model investigation confirms that the adsorption behavior of MCPs to direct pink dye is consistent with Langmuir model.
