Abstract: Through analyzing chemical reactions,thermodynamics and kinetics of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) and diisobutylene production processes,the technical scheme for revamping MTBE production unit to diisobutylene production unit is explored,and the operation control and process parameters of diisobutylene unit are discussed.Commercial operation results show that the conversion of isobutylene can reach 98% and the content of diisobutylene in the oligomerization products is 91%,and the yield is 14.9% relative to the feedstock when mixed C4 from fluid catalytic cracking unit is used as feedstock.It is revealed from the theoretical analysis that the yield of diisobutylene still has room for improvement.
