Abstract: A kind of nanoparticle composite phase change materials (PCMs) is prepared via a two-step process using paraffin as the matrix that is added with different volume fractions of nanographene and nanographene slice respectively,and its thermal performance parameters are characterized and tested.An experimental bench is built to test the heat storing and releasing process of the composite PCMs,and record the temperature versus time curve.The results show that the latent heat of the composite PCMs decreases as the addition amount of both two kinds of nanoparticles increases.As for the heat conduction-dominated solidification process,the solidification rate of the composite PCMs are higher than that of pure paraffin and the addition of the nanographene and nanographene slice both with a volume fraction of 1% can increase the solidification rate by 8.7% and 6.3%,respectively.As for the melting process,heat conduction and converting together determine whether the melting rate of the composite PCMs is enhanced or not.
