Calcite-type CaCO3 spherical particles (CS-CaCO3) and aragonite-type CaCO3 whisker (AW-CaCO3) are synthesized respectively by using sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and Mg(NO3)2 as regulators for morphology and crystal, and mixed with water and olive oil to prepare the corresponding Pickering emulsion. The effect of particle morphology, particle size, dosage of CaCO3 powder and oil-water ratio (RO/W) on the stability of prepared Pickering emulsion is studied by means of a stability analyzer. The results by SEM tests show that CS-CaCO3 particles are spherical in morphology, which are aggregated by a large number of prism-like calcium carbonate nanocrystals and have an average size of around 1.5 μm.AW-CaCO3 whisker has a length of around 12-20 μm and an aspect ratio of about 15.With the increasing mass fraction of CaCO3 powder, both the droplet size and migration rate of Pickering emulsion droplets decrease, and accompanied by an increase in stability.Pickering emulsion prepared from AW-CaCO3 can form a network structure inside and has excellent storage stability.
