The resource scale and distribution of shale oil,the geological characteristics of major enrichment areas,and the status of exploration and development in the United States are reviewed in detail,and the policies,technologies and management models of shale oil development in the United States are summarized.The resources distribution,type and potential of continental shale oil in China are summarized.The key problems in the development of continental shale oil in China are discussed.Learning from the successful experience of the shale oil revolution in North America,China shall seek for a development path with its own characteristics.
