Abstract
In order to treat with ultra-low concentration methane in high flow ventilation air in mines, the ventilation air is fed into the boiler as a secondary air.Induced draft fan, investment and operating cost, project renovation earnings and the influence of boiler efficiency for these engineering reconstructions are analyzed. Results illustrate that the boiler generates less flue gas after using ventilation air methane. The variation of mass flow rate of the fuel gas is so small that there needs no technological transformation on induced draft fan of the boiler.Majority investment of such renovation project is subject to procurement and installation of pipelines and thermal insulation cotton.Carbon sink part is the main earnings for such a project.Low flow velocity of the ventilation air can raise the engineering investment cost but reduce annual operating cost, which is beneficial for the profit over a long period.Earnings surplus and deficit balance curves of the project in 20-year are plotted under different transportation distances. An optimized ventilation air methane delivery system is proposed for both mine-side and secondary air-side.Meanwhile,the effect of ventilation air methane temperature and humidity on boiler efficiency is analyzed. This study provides a reference for the approval and feasibility analysis of ventilation air methane utilization projects.
