The reasons for shortening lifespan of methanol synthesis catalyst in Davy gas-cooled water-cooled reactor cascade process is analyzed, and the cascade process is modified as well. A new water-cooled reactor that is the same as the original water-cooled reactor is added. These two water-cooled reactors are set in parallel and then connected in series with the original air-cooled reactor, and the expected effect is achieved after renovation. This process modification scheme provides a practical solution for similar problems in the field of methanol synthesis.
