Research progress in preparation of functional agents from wood tar

Abstract: The wood tar is introduced firstly,including its characteristics,physicochemical property and concerning practical application.In addition,the reaction mechanism using wood tar to prepare functional agents is explained.The researches at home and abroad mainly focuses on using wood tar to prepare four kinds of functional agents such as adhesive,polymerization inhibitor,curing agent,and tanning agent.Preparation methods,property analysis and research status of these four functional agents are discussed in detail.The advantages and weaknesses in preparation of functional agents based on wood tar are analyzed.Finally,the prospect and development direction for wood tar based functional agent are pointed out.Through a comprehensive analysis of wood tar and corresponding functional agents,it is suggested that the deep utilization of various chemical components in wood tar is an important development direction,which can find out a great potential market in the field of chemical modification aspect.This way can not only develop a new way of exploiting wood tar,but also provide a rich raw material source for preparing functional agents.
