Abstract: The process operation performances and equipment conditions before and after the emergence of polymers in styrene plant are compared and the structure of polymers is analyzed.It is found that the polymers are polymerized from divinyl benzene (DVB).The polymerization mechanism to generate DVB polymers is studied.The polymers samples are analyzed and verified by means of IR,gas chromatography-mass spectrometry,thermogravimetric analysis etc.It is proposed that the problem of DVB polymerization can be solved by establishing a DVB content analysis method for dehydrogenation liquid DM and taking measures such as thoroughly checking EB feed,continuously tracking conditions of dehydrogenation reactor and adjusting at the end of catalyst the technological conditions of dehydrogenation reactor.
