Research on effect of urban wastewater treatment by magnetic flocculation

Abstract: Magnetic flocculation technology has wide applications in urban sewage treatment.The influences of flocculants dosage,stirring time and sedimentation time on the effect of urban sewage treatment by magnetic flocculation technology are investigated.The results show that the removal rate of COD from urban sewage can surpass 65% and the removal rate of SS can exceed 75% when the concentrations of Fe3O4,PAC and PAM are 100 mg·L-1,250 mg·L-1 and 1 mg·L-1 respectively,stirring time is 90 s and sedimentation time is 2 min.In addition,the BOD5/COD value of the sewage increases from initial 0.55 to 0.65,which improves greatly the biodegradability of sewage.
